Gospel singer Michelle T performs at a free concert Saturday night to launch her first gospel album in Cayman.
The artist, who formerly sang with the Grace Thrillers, will debut her “Here Is My Praise” album at the concert, which begins at 7 p.m. at the Cayman Islands Baptist Church on Pedro Castle Road, Bodden Town.
The concert is free but a dollar from every CD sold will go to the Cayman Islands Cancer Society, organizers said.
The album is a collection of some of her singles and includes nine original songs and three collaborations, including with George Nooks, Jermaine Edwards and Andre Leon. The title track was written and produced by Clive Bennett.
Next up, Michelle T and Mr. Bennett, and friends Shawn Warren, Sherika Matthews, Rising Star Dance Ministry, Women of Purpose and the group Clarity will tour Grand Cayman to promote the album.
The group will appear at the Light of the World Christian Fellowship’s “Tribute to Dad” concert on Sunday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m.; at the West Bay New Testament Church on July 12; and at the High Rock New Testament Church in East End on Aug. 2. The tour ends on Aug. 7 at the Jamaica Independence celebration in Cardinall Avenue in George Town.
Michelle T made a splash on the gospel scene in the Cayman Islands some years ago with her single “The Prayer,” which rose to No. 1 on the Love FM Top 40 Gospel Chart.
