The head of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service’s Financial Crime Unit has announced his resignation from the local police service, to take effect in August, RCIPS officials confirmed Wednesday.

Detective Superintendent Stephen Ratcliffe, who has been in that position with the RCIPS since August 2014, will remain on the job through the middle of next month, the department confirmed.

Reasons for Mr. Ratcliffe’s leaving were not given by RCIPS Superintendent Adrian Seales, who responded to Cayman Compass questions about the resignation Wednesday.
