The Cayman Islands did well in the pool at the NatWest Island Games in Jersey on Wednesday, winning seven medals. There was also success on the track with Ashley Nalty taking bronze in the women’s high jump.
Swimmer Shaune Fraser captured gold in the men’s 100 meters individual medley and Alex McCallum won silver in the men’s 200m backstroke.
The Fraser brothers showed their Olympic pedigree and dominated two events. Brett took gold in the 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly and Shaune was second in both.
Swimmer Lara Butler grabbed silver in the 200m backstroke.
So far, Cayman’s athletes have won 23 medals in the Games, including 12 in swimming, eight in athletics, and three in shooting.
Cayman has nine teams to the Games, including competitors in athletics, basketball, golf, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, tennis and beach volleyball.
