Shenel Gall is one of the busiest sportswomen in Cayman and even though she is on a break from serious action, she is still heavily involved in touch rugby and flag football.
Her intense training starts soon in rugby as the women’s national team gears up for the Halloween Sevens tournament at the end of October.
The inaugural Halloween Sevens, which Cayman hosted last year, went badly for the 23-year-old Caymanian, who suffered a serious knee injury early in the first match against Mexico, had to go off and was unable to play again.
Cayman came fifth overall and want to improve this time but will be hard pressed to do so.
Last year’s tournament went down so well with the few world-class visitors from the U.S. and Europe that they immediately committed to playing again this time and said they would recommend it to other elite players as an ideal warm weather break.
Gall is fully fit again and relishing the preparations for the Halloween tournament and helping Cayman place higher.
In the meantime, she will add club football for Elite Sports Club to her packed itinerary where she plays as an attacking midfielder.
