Handicap series is starting

One of the most anticipated race series in the Cayman Islands starts this Wednesday.

Organized by Tony Watts and Justine Plenkiewicz, it is the annual Wednesday Night Running Club’s Handicap Race and is open to anyone who has run at least once with the club in recent months.

The 5K run starts at 6 p.m. sharp at the old Butterfly Garden on Lawrence Boulevard, opposite the Harquail Theatre.

All runners will be seeded based on ability and first to the finish line gets the most points. That person may not necessarily be the fastest runner, hence the handicap system.

The runner with the most points after three races wins the prestigious Jim Kelly Trophy and a year of bragging rights
