There was some excellent youth football during the sixth round of the 2015/16 CUC Primary Football League and Girls Primary Football League regular seasons on Saturday.
In Group B, defending Under-11 champions Red Bay Primary took on Cayman Brac at the TE McField Annex.
A much improved Brac team has played some excellent football this season and recorded some impressive results.
The same goes for Red Bay, who have not dropped a point this season as they strive to repeat their historic title defence of last year.
The game was fast-paced from the opening whistle. Red Bay had a chance to take the lead early in the game with a penalty but failed to convert. Minutes later, Red Bay’s marksman Alejandro Holness put his school in front with an excellent finish.
During the second half, Holness added his second, and goals from Dequan Messam and Jacquan Wray sealed a 4-0 victory over the Brackers.
Although defeated, the Brac boys played impressively at times as Jamar McCoy, Curtis Hunt and Cody Kirkwood tormented Red Bay’s rearguard throughout the game, hitting the post on a number of occasions and forcing a number of saves from Red Bay’s goalkeeper.
In other Group B games in the PFL, it was South Sound Schools 0 v Prospect Primary 2 (U-9); South Sound Schools 1 v Prospect Primary 4 (U-11); Cayman Prep 1 v North East Schools 1 (U-9); Cayman Prep 5 v North East Schools 1 (U-11 – mercy rule); Triple C 5 v Bodden Town Primary 1 (U-9 – mercy rule) and Triple C 3 v Bodden Town Primary 0 (U-11).
In Group A action at the Annex, Savannah Primary’s U-9s defeated George Town Primary 1-0 thanks to a Joshua Elliott strike.
In the U-11 encounter, two goals each from Savannah Primary’s Immanuel Duran and Josh Gardner and a solitary strike from Jerry Gardner sealed a 4-0 mercy rule victory over George Town Primary.
In other Group A action, it was Sir John A. Cumber Primary 4 v Truth For Youth 0 (U-9) and Sir John A. Cumber Primary 1 v Truth For Youth 1 (U-11).
In Group A of the CUC Girls’ Primary Football League, the result was Savannah Primary 0 v George Town Primary 0.
In Group B, scores were Cayman Prep 4 v North East Schools 0; Triple C 4 v Bodden Town Primary 0 and Prospect Primary 0 v Sir John A. Cumber Primary ‘B’ 4.

The final weekend of regular season games will take place on Nov. 28 with games being played at the Annex, West Bay Town Hall Field, Cayman Prep, St. Ignatius Prep and Prospect Primary.
The 2015/16 PFL and GPFL playoffs begin on Dec. 5.
