Law firm Walkers will open the application process for its 2016 legal scholarships, internship and articled clerk programs on Friday, March 18.
Qualified Caymanian applicants will have until 5 p.m. on April 6 to apply by using the online application portal on the careers section of www.walkersglobal.com.
In addition to financial support, Walkers scholarship recipients receive mentoring and support from the firm. Scholarship recipients can also take part in Walkers’ summer legal internship program, which gives them the opportunity to work with lawyers, exposure to the profession and practical experience of life in a law firm.
“Walkers is in competition with the large accounting firms and other financial service providers to attract the best and brightest Caymanian students. However, the Walkers training program is the oldest and, we believe, the best. Our trainees have gone on to be globally recognized lawyers, leading government officials and important and respected members of the Cayman community,” said Anthony Partridge, chairman of the Walkers Trainee Committee. “A Walkers scholarship will help any Caymanian carve out a future career.”
Over the past five weeks, members of the Walkers Trainee Committee visited 12 secondary and tertiary schools to promote the opportunities and advantages of a career at an international law firm and, specifically, at Walkers, whether as a lawyer or in business support.
