Families descended on Kaibo Beach in Cayman Kai on Easter Monday for some colorful kite flying.

The annual Kitefest raises money for local charity Cayman’s ARK (Acts of Random Kindness).
Despite the wind not cooperating as much as some would like, many of the kites made it into the air, catching the sea breezes and providing a spectacle of color.
Prizes were awarded for best kite (most creative and original); best kite flyer with steadiest kite; adult (best kite flyer with steadiest kite); youth (under-15); oldest kite flier; youngest kite flier; best dressed (matching kite and costume); and most environmentally friendly kite.
As well as enjoying some outdoor fun in the sun, participants also got to relax and listen to the music of Bona Fide. Organizers said this year’s event raised $1,650 for ARK.
