Suspect in custody after mugging on West Bay Public Beach

A 32-year-old West bay man is in custody after allegedly assaulting and robbing a man on West Bay Public Beach in the early hours of Sunday.

The victim told police that his attacker had a knife and took his mobile phone, according to a release by the RCIPS.

After the victim reported the incident just before 2 a.m. yesterday, officers took him to the hospital for treatment and made checks at the beach for the suspect.

  1. No news here, just the norm for the Cayman Islands of today, There needs to be sign posted along the beach warning people no to stray out alone after dark especially in such a volatile area. It’s not fair at all not to warn people of the dangers of visiting Cayman..
