Six young golfers will travel with coach/manager Brad de Schiffert to Barbados to represent the Cayman Islands in the 2016 Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships July 4-8. Cayman will compete against eight other Caribbean countries.

The golfers are: Girls 11-13, Holly McLean; Boys 11-13, Aaron Jarvis and Justin Hastings; Boys 14-15, Joe Ribbins; 16+, Andrew Jarvis and Joe Purton.

James Walton, Cayman Islands Golf Association president, said, “We are sending a very competitive team this year as we look to build upon the success of a strong performance at last year’s championship in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“Andrew Jarvis, our team captain, will be playing in his last CAJGC in 2016 and has already established himself as a key member of the men’s team … We also wish the best of luck to Joe Purton, who will travel straight from the CAJGC to represent the Cayman Islands in the Junior Open in Kilmarnock, Scotland.”
