In the July 13, 1966 edition of the Caymanian Weekly, a precursor of the Cayman Compass, North Side correspondent Nettie McCoy wrote:
“Arriving on the 7th was Mr. Charles Chisholm, wife Sheila and two children, Toni and Andrew. They are on a ten day vacation visiting Charles’ mother.
“Arriving the same day was Mr. Thomas J. Parsons, employee of National Bulk Carriers, to spend his vacation with family and friends.
“Mr. Venners Whittaker arrived on the 9th from National Bulk Carriers to spend his vacation.
“Miss Zelmalie Chisholm has completed her three-year course at Shortwood Training College in Jamaica from which she graduated in July. She arrived home on the 7th, to take up teaching in one of the junior schools on the island. Her mother, Mrs. Elvy Chisholm also arrived on the same plane, having been to Jamaica to attend the graduation.
“Miss Emily Ebanks who has completed one year at Shortwood Training College arrived on Sunday.
“On the 9th, Mr. Robert Brenton, Manager of Cayman Kai, and his family left for a two-week vacation in the U.S.A.
“Mr. Churchill Connolly departed on the 10th to join the S.S. Commonwealth in Puerto Rico.
Arriving on the 7th from Jamaica were Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Ebanks. Mrs. Ebanks went to Jamaica for medical aid.
“Mr. Doren Miller, who resides in Toronto, Canada, arrived on the 9th for a few weeks vacation.
“Mrs. Zeita Rivers left on the 9th for Jamaica, where she has been sent for medical aid. She was accompanied by Nurse Annie Bush of the Government Hospital and Miss Phyllis Smith.”
