Four young athletes from Cayman participated in the Caribbean Union of Teachers Games in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, July 15-16. The youngest competitor, Anthony Chin Jr., won silver in the Under-9 boys long jump.

The track and field competition is for male and female athletes in age group categories U-9, U-11, U-13 and U-15.
Overall, the team did well, organizers said in a press release, adding, “It was great exposure for them competing against teams from Jamaica, Barbados, Bahamas to name a few.
Cydonie Mothersill, acting president of the Cayman Islands Athletic Association, said, “The CIAA is extremely proud of all our athletes who represented us at the CUT Games.
