There is no question that awareness of the fashion industry is growing in Cayman. For many years, island boutiques have stocked pieces from international designers, and now some local designers have made their presence known on the global runway.

A celebration of fashion and jazz came together at the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands on Nov. 4 and 5, courtesy of the Allure team, bringing more than 400 people out to see the latest trends and dance to some fantastic music.

Swanky Kitchen Band and visiting saxophonist Arturo Tappin were just a couple of the acts that took to the stage on the Friday night, and a host of designers and models walked the runway on the Saturday.

“We are pleased with the success of the event and next year will be even bigger and better,” said executive producer Pearlina McGaw Lumsden, “and we are forever indebted to the sponsors, audience, artists and all that played their part.”
