Grand Cayman will once again be a host country for the 2017 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour. The tournament, which attracts elite athletes from more than 16 countries, will take place at Seven Mile Public Beach from April 21-23.
Local volleyball representatives said the stands will accommodate hundreds of supporters and the VIP area will be extended to accommodate further ticketed seating for viewing of the main court “in comfort and style.”
At last year’s tournament, one of Cayman’s two female teams, consisting of Jessica Wolfenden and Stefania Gandolfi, made it to the bronze medal match, finishing in fourth place overall.
“We are excited to see what will happen this year with the return of 15-year-old rising star Marissa Harrison on the women’s side and a fresh batch of rookies joining the men’s team,” a press release from the Cayman Islands Volleyball Federation states.
Covered stand seating is $5, which includes free entry to a raffle draw. VIP tickets are for sale for Saturday and Sunday only at $25; VIP tickets include unlimited drinks, plus snacks. Tickets are available from the Epic Day office in the Strand or on the connected castaway app from April 1. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/caymanisvolleyball or www.civf.ky.
