The Cayman Islands Motorcycle Riders Association is holding its sixth annual Wheels 4 Meals charity food drive and motorcycle ride on Saturday and Sunday to benefit the Cayman Islands Meals on Wheels program.

The association participates in a number of charitable events in the Cayman Islands, including the Toys 4 Tots annual Christmas fundraiser.

In 2014, it decided to raise the bar and set a goal to collect a ton of food (2,000 pounds) over a two-week period. Despite some doubts that such a result could be accomplished, the association surpassed it, collecting 2.5 tons of food items.

“Since then, we have had similar success of collecting just over 2,000 pounds every year,” says Keith Keller, CIMRA president. “For 2017, we are hoping to once again be overachievers in our collections for the Meals on Wheels program to ensure that not one of our seniors here in Cayman goes without a hot meal every day.

Donations may be made in the form of cash or food products. If you opt to donate cash, CIMRA members will be at CostULess on Saturday for the food drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can drop off your money or have CIMRA members assist with shopping. CostULess will offer a discount in support of the food drive. If you choose to collect food items, you may contact the association to coordinate their pickup by Wednesday.
