King room at Margaritaville

Margaritaville Beach Resort Grand Cayman, at the south end of Seven Mile Beach, is celebrating its soft opening with an exclusive rate for locals.

Representing a savings of more than 65 percent, the limited time local resident rate of US$150 per night is available on new bookings from now through June 30. Service fees and government and resort fees are waived.

“We are excited to welcome our local friends and neighbors to be among the very first to experience our new resort as part of our soft opening,” says Howard Sitzer, chairman and CEO of Grand Cayman-based HHG, the ownership group that developed the resort. “This special offer provides island residents the chance to get a sneak peek of what’s to come, utilizing select amenities and services while enjoying a fun and relaxing escape in their own backyard.”

As part of the resort’s soft opening, select guest rooms are open, as are the resort’s open-air lobby, License to Chill Bar, Margaritaville Coffee Shop and 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, boasting what is described as the largest swim-up bar on Grand Cayman.

One of the island’s newest hot spots, the License to Chill Bar in the lobby offers Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 5-7 p.m. with 50 percent off draft beer and cocktails. A sampling of the cocktails include the “Where’s the Party” margarita with golden tequila, triple sec, wildberry puree, and margarita mix, as well as the “License to Chillada” beer cocktail, which features aged tequila, Bloody Mary mix and draft beer.

The Margaritaville Beach Resort is slated to be fully operational this fall. Once complete, the resort will feature 285 guest rooms; three pools, including an activity pool with a waterslide, a large pool with a swim-up bar and a zero-entry kiddie pool area, and an adult-friendly pool; live entertainment; retail shops; a complimentary kids club; a 24-hour fitness center and an on-site Red Sail sports desk.

The food and beverage lineup will introduce three concepts: YARA, Spread and Banana Wind Café. The new resort is bringing a coastal-inspired, laid-back vibe to Grand Cayman’s thriving hospitality scene, with elements that capture and embrace the local island culture.

To book the resident rate, locals must call 1-855-640-6440 and mention the offer. This offer is exclusively for Caymanians, status holders and legal residents of the islands; ID must be presented at check-in.
