The annual Breeze Fusion 5K Walk/Run will take place on Grand Cayman on Nov. 4 and on Cayman Brac on Nov. 25.

On Grand Cayman, the race will start at Smith Barcadere; on the Brac, the race will start from Public Beach. Walkers will start at 6:30 a.m. and runners at 6:45 a.m.

In previous years, proceeds from the race have supported the National Council of Voluntary Organisations. Funds from this year’s Grand Cayman race will also benefit the Special Needs Foundation and the Lions Club of Cayman Brac Kids Pantry. Paulette Conolly-Bailey, deputy director for race organizer Radio Cayman, said, “Every year the Breeze Fusion Walk/Run gets bigger and more exciting. It feels wonderful that we can raise funds to support these worthy causes while having fun and fellowship with our families and friends and the community as a whole.”

In the community spirit of the event, a press release says, a number of MLAs have pledged support by sponsoring students from their district schools.

Both the Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac races will have age divisions and a division for Pram Pushers. First, second and third place finishers will get a medal.

The Grand Cayman registration is $20 adults and $10 students 16 and under. The Cayman Brac registration is $15 adults and $10 students. The first 300 participants will receive a goodie bag and a participation medal. All participants will get a chance to win door prize draws.

Registration forms are available at www.radiocayman.gov.ky or at www.caymanactive.com/breeze. For more information or to become a corporate sponsor or volunteer, email [email protected] or call 949-7799.
