Appleby has promoted two of its corporate lawyers, Samuel Banks and Jacob MacAdam, to partners, and one of its dispute resolution lawyers, Paul Kennedy, to counsel.

Mr. Banks is a member of the corporate practice group at Appleby with a focus on blockchain technology and insurance. He is actively engaged in all aspects of corporate, finance, technology and insurance law in the Cayman Islands. Mr. Banks completed his articles at Appleby before climbing the ranks to partner.

Mr. MacAdam has been with Appleby since 2011 in the corporate practice group. He focuses on corporate finance, banking and finance, fund finance, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and capital markets transactions.

Mr. Kennedy has been in the dispute resolution practice group since 2014 and is a member of the funds disputes team. He has acted in commercial litigation in the Grand Court and Court of Appeal of the Cayman Islands, the Irish High Court, in ADR and regulatory processes and in appeals to the Privy Council.

Across all offices, Appleby has promoted nine lawyers, effective April 1. All appointments are subject to relevant immigration approvals.
