Delayed report in South Sound robbery

A woman was robbed walking along South Sound road late Sunday, but the incident apparently was not reported to police until two days later.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said the victim was approached and grabbed by a suspect just before midnight Sunday as she walked along South Sound Road.

Police said the man demanded the victim’s handbag, which she threw down during a struggle with the suspect. Investigating officers said the suspect attempted to pull the woman into some nearby bushes but fled when she shouted for help.

The victim suffered bruises in the incident, according to police. No arrests were immediately reported.
