Update: Seaview Road has reopened, police said Saturday evening.
Original story: High winds took down power lines in East End, obstructing the roadway and forcing police to close parts of Seaview Road near High Rock Road.
The power lines were still live as of 10 a.m. Saturday and the area was considered unsafe, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said.
Police urged drivers and pedestrians to use caution and to avoid the area until further notice.
