The story of the Cayman Islands Coat of Arms is coming to Cayman Brac.
Celebrate Cayman will tell the story of the Coat of Arms at the Cayman Brac Autumn Heritage Festival, which is in its fourth year of operation. The Heritage Festival, which features a variety of arts and culture events that highlight the local creative community, will take place Oct. 12-14.
Celebrate Cayman will stage a gospel concert on Friday called “He Hath Founded it Upon the Seas.” Visiting international artist Steve Higgins and local talent – including Elroy Stewartson and Shiona Clarke – will perform, as will a variety of church choir groups.
Heritage Day will take place Saturday and will include performances by the Cayman Islands Folk Singers and steel pan band Pan N Riddim.
The festival will include a lineup of local food, the Caymanian Homestead, the Bush Tea Party, open mic poetry and more.
There will also be a fireworks display.
The annual Old Fashioned Evangelistic Service will take place on Sunday.
Cayman Brac residents and visitors are also invited to view the Celebrate Cayman Travelling District Display, which is currently at the Heritage House. That exhibit will be open until Oct. 17.
