Panthers, Vipers head to flag playoffs undefeated

The top four teams in Cayman Islands Flag Football Association Premier League male and female divisions will be going head-to-head Saturday at Ed Bush Field.

In the finals games leading up to playoffs, Hellcats were up against Titans in the first game of the day, Hellcats ended their regular season by sealing the win 19-6.

Up next were the Red Stripe Wolverines against Tribe Tattoo Sharks. With Wolverines losing key players due to injury, they fought their hardest but Sharks proved to be stronger both offensively and defensively. The game ended in favor of Sharks 20-0.

In the third match-up, Maples were determined to seal a win against the Burger King Panthers. Both teams were strong throughout the game, but Panthers managed to seal the win in a 9-6 score.

The final game was HSM Vipers up against Greenhouse Lynx. Lynx came with the intention of being the team to ruin Vipers’ perfect score, however the Vipers had other plans, with the game ending 8-7 in their favor.

The top four men’s teams heading to playoffs are The Burger King Panthers, Maples, Uncle Clem’s Wolves and the Miller Lite Hellcats. Panthers go into the playoffs undefeated, and will be playing number 4 seed Hellcats at 2:15 p.m. Second seed Maples will go up against number 3 seed Wolves at 5 p.m.

In the women’s division, the four top teams heading to playoffs are HSM Vipers, the Greenhouse Lynx, Red Stripe Wolverines and Tribe Tattoo Sharks. The undefeated Vipers will be up against the number 4 seed Sharks in the first game of the day at 1 p.m. Number 2 seed Lynx will play against third ranked Wolverines at 3:45 p.m.

Men’s and women’s league finals are set for Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Annex Football Field. The men’s game will kick off at 3 p.m. and the women’s finals will start at 4:30 p.m.
