Nancy Barnard’s submission of a photograph of herself and her daughter on a flight to Little Cayman won her the grand prize in Cayman Airways’ 50th anniversary social media competition.
The competition received more than 500 entries across Facebook and Instagram, “each with a unique story to tell of treasured Cayman Airways memories,” according to a press release from the airline.
To celebrate its five decades of service, Cayman Airways ran a competition on social media throughout August and September, asking followers to share their favorite CAL memory to win travel vouchers and a grand prize of a round trip for two to any Cayman Airways gateway.
Mrs. Barnard received the weekly prize of a Cayman Airways voucher for her submitted photo and then she was automatically entered into the randomly selected Grand Prize draw.
She gave one of the tickets she won to a friend.
“I would like to thank Cayman Airways for fifty years of flying us safely. I’m looking forward to many more trips and more importantly, a lot more memory making. I decided to share my prize with a friend, who could use a flight to spend time with a loved one who is undergoing treatment overseas,” Mrs. Barnard said in the press release.
“We are overwhelmed with the amount of entries to our 50th Anniversary competition,” said Olivia Scott Ramirez, Cayman Airways’ marketing and public relations manager. “It gives us great pride to see so many local and international followers submitting their special Cayman Airways memories. We’ve had a great time reflecting on the past fifty years with our followers and loved the stories which came with each and every entry.”
