UPDATED: Accident knocks out power in Prospect

UPDATED at 6:55 a.m.: An accident in Prospect caused another power outage Monday morning. CUC indicated on social media that a pole was knocked down, causing the outage.

UPDATED at 7:05 p.m.: CUC confirmed via social media shortly after 7 p.m that service had been restored islandwide.

UPDATED 6:30 PM: CUC said power should be restored by 7 p.m. after an equipment failure at one of its substations caused a delay.

ORIGINAL: Power Customers from North Side to West Bay experienced power outages Sunday afternoon. CUC estimated more than 10,000 customers were affected around 5:15 p.m.

While the company had confirmed several outage areas, with large areas affected in Prospect and North Side, its online mapping indicated that many outage areas were to be confirmed.

CUC tweeted at 5:30 p.m. that the company expected the power to be restored within half an hour.
