The annual Valentine’s Mile road race, hosted by Race Caribbean, will be held on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 10.

The run, sponsored by Kirk Freeport, will raise funds for the Cayman Islands YMCA.

The race will begin and end at Bayshore Mall. Participants will head along Goring Avenue, then travel south onto Walkers Road, then west onto Memorial Avenue, north onto South Church Street and end up at Bayshore Mall via Warwick Drive.

Police are urging motorists are asked to exercise caution if traveling in these areas on Sunday afternoon.

Participants will receive a T-shirt, although supplies are limited. There is also automatic entry into the raffle, which features many prizes.

There will be trophies for first, second and third placed male and female runners in each age group, and medals for the children’s race (to the first 100 finishers).

Check-in and late registration will be done from 2:30-3:45 p.m. and the main race begins at 4 p.m. The Kiddies Race starts at 4:30 p.m. Presentations and the raffle will begin at 5 p.m.

Registration fees are $20 for adults and $5 for runners under 18. Under 10s can take part in the children’s race for free. Participants can register at
