Round two of the Sandlot Baseball Series got under way at the Field of Dreams on Saturday night, and when the final outs were recorded, the series was all tied up with each team’s record standing at 1‑1.
Bluewater Medical 13, Andro 2
On Field 4, Bluewater started their onslaught of runs early, scoring 8 in the first inning, and with an excellent outing by starting pitcher Justin Wight, who recorded a complete game allowing only 2 unearned runs, they kept the pressure up throughout the entire game.
Maples 8, RVC 7
Meanwhile on Field 3, in a nail biter that kept the spectators and players alike on edge, Maples scratched out a win over RVC in a game that could have gone either way; however, it was Joel Clark’s first inning, an over-the-fence home run, which made the difference in the final result.
Action continues on Saturday evenings at 7pm at the Field of Dreams.
