Two men are left nursing stab wounds following two separate incidents on Saturday in George Town.

A police statement on Monday said the first incident happened shortly before 3:30am at the Sky Lounge bar on Mary Street in George Town.

Police said a man was involved in an altercation with other men inside the bar and had been stabbed multiple times. He was taken by private vehicle to hospital where he remains. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Almost one hour later police were called out to Baleadas Restaurant on Shedden Road following the report of another stabbing. In that incident a man was stabbed during an altercation.

He too was taken to hospital by private vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries. He subsequently discharged.

Two men, both age 19 of West Bay, were arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of affray and assault causing grievous bodily harm, in connection with the incident on Shedden Road.

Police said one of the men was released with no further action, and the second has been granted bail as investigations continue.
