UPDATED: Driver critical in Pease Bay crash

The female driver in Monday’s collision in Bodden Town remains in critical condition, but stable condition at Health City Cayman Islands.

Friday police confirmed the woman’s condition in a brief statement as they corrected their initial report which had stated that she had been discharged.

The single vehicle collision happened shortly before 4pm, according to the initial police statement.

Police said officers responded to a report of the accident in the Pease Bay area.

A silver Honda Accord was travelling eastbound on Bodden Town Road, when it left the roadway and crashed into a wall on the roadside.

Police said emergency services responded and the female driver was taken to the Cayman Islands hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

She was later transferred to Health City Cayman Islands for further treatment.

The accident remains under investigation.
