Poll: Should visitors be required to show proof of vaccination?

With the COVID-19 vaccine roll out in Cayman now underway, government and those in the travel industry are eyeing a possible reopening of the country to tourists by the end of March.

Although being vaccinated against COVID-19 will form part of Cayman’s new border-entry protocols, the inoculation will not be mandatory.

  1. The question is ambiguous. I would hope the large percentage of “nays” are from many who take the question to mean “vaccinated AND quarantined.” I would agree that this may be more than needed to keep us covid-free. However, to have neither vaccination nor quarantine would require all the onerous high fines and policing of public mask-wearing, distancing, and shutting down many restaurants and bars that don’t have the space.
