Cayman Airways resuming Tampa route in October

Cayman Airways has announced it will resume its Grand Cayman-Tampa route this month as it moves to further expand its flight offerings.

In a media release Friday, the national flag carrier said it will be running three Tampa flights for the month of October, operating on Saturdays, commencing 16 Oct.

The other flights will run on 23 Oct. and 30 Oct., in addition to its Miami and Kingston service.

“Miami flights will operate five days a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Kingston flights will operate three days a week, on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays,” the statement said.

Flights to and from La Ceiba will be weekly on Thursdays.

CAL said there are no flights between Grand Cayman and Havana at this time, as it has not received approval from the Cuban government to operate proposed flights to Cuba.

Meanwhile British Airways has resumed regular commercial service between Grand Cayman and Heathrow Airport.

According to government travel information, the airline “will operate a variable schedule three times per week based on a seasonal timetable and travel demand. The BA service will also resume the flight route via Nassau, Bahamas from week commencing 27 September 2021.”

Bookings are to be made through British Airways.

In addition, Jetblue will resume service to Cayman from New York (JFK) from mid-October, and Air Canada is resuming service to Grand Cayman from Toronto in November.
