Cayman Islands racer Kyffin Simpson is set to compete at the official Chris Griffis Memorial Open Test in Indianapolis, Indiana, this weekend, 30-31 Oct.
It’s the first of several races he is scheduled to participate in before closing out his 2021 season, which has been a “success” to date according to TJ Speed owner Tim Neff, who recently re-signed Simpson.
“We’ve had great success in Formula Regional this year and are hard at work to prepare for the next step of Kyffin’s career,” Neff stated in a press release.
Simpson, 17, captured multiple podium places throughout the year, which included five victories. However, with two months left in 2021, the Barbados citizen, who attended Cayman International School, is looking to close out the year in a big way.
“It’s always an honour to drive at Indianapolis. I can’t wait to get back in the IL-15 for the official series test,” Simpson said ahead of racing at the Chris Griffis Memorial.
He added, “I think the last quarter of 2021 will be the busiest time of my career so far. I’ve learnt a lot about myself, and I’m fully focused on doing the work and doing it right.”
Following the race in Indianapolis, Simpson will compete in the final Honda Performance Development’s GT3 Academy on 2-3 Nov., followed by the final FR Americas championship rounds on 4-7 Nov.
