Eclipze extends ‘Pink Out Month’ fundraiser

Eclipze is looking for volunteers who are willing to donate their hair to children who are undergoing cancer treatment.

Every year, Eclipze Hair Design & Day Spa, located in Camana Bay, raises money for the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens’ Breast Cancer Awareness Fund.

Throughout this month of October, the company has been offering treatment specials and promoting other initiatives to support the cause, which gives financial support to breast cancer patients. Owner Darla Dilbert and her sister Darna started ‘Pink Out Month’ over 20 years ago when a beloved aunt passed away from the deadly disease. Since then, thousands of dollars have been raised in her memory.

Although the official end of the event typically falls on 31 Oct., this year, Dilbert has decided to extend some specials into the month of November to allow for more money to be raised.

Cuts for a Cause
Calling all volunteers! The spa is looking for people willing to cut 10-12 inches off their hair or shave their heads in order to raise money and donate their tresses to Locks of Love. The organisation makes wigs for children who have lost their hair, and — as a result — a lot of their confidence. They can be life-changing for some kids who would otherwise be self-conscious going out in public.

It is hoped that each person willing to sit in the hairstylist’s chair will raise a minimum of $1,000 towards their cuts.

The deadline for signing up has been extended to 15 Nov. with cuts extended until 30 Nov. For more information and to be a part of Cuts for a Cause, email [email protected] or call Michelle/Darla at 945-1188/916-7274.
