A seventh person with COVID-19 has died in Cayman, health officials reported Thursday.
The latest death – the third since Sunday – came as the Ministry of Health reported 120 new positive cases among PCR and lateral flow tests conducted since Wednesday morning, bringing the number of active cases in Cayman to 3,867.
No more details of the deceased person were included in the latest update on COVID from the ministry.
There are currently 14 patients with COVID-19 in hospital.
The latest update reported no new cases in the Sister Islands, which currently has 14 active cases. Cayman Brac and Little Cayman have recorded a total of 120 cases, of which 106 have recovered, officials said.
Public Health said there are 4,497 people in isolation.
Vaccinations
As of 8am Thursday, a total of 125,273 COVID-19 vaccinations had been administered locally. Of these, 58,143 people (82% of the estimated population of 71,106) had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 56,187 (79%) had completed the two-dose course.
Additionally, 11,387 people (representing 16% of the total population) have received a third, or booster, dose.
