Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Lee reported on Tuesday that there were 47 new positive cases of COVID-19, comprising 45 in the community and two travellers.
The results are from 1,029 PCR tests taken since 8am Monday, Lee said.
This brings the total active cases of COVID-19 in the Cayman Islands to 3,448.
Since the start of the pandemic, 4,450 have recovered from the virus in Cayman, and nine have died.
There are currently 14 COVID-19 patients in hospital.
Sister Islands update
There are no active cases of COVID-19 on the Sister Islands at this time, according to an update from Faith Hospital on Cayman Brac.
There have been a total of 120 cases recorded in the Sister Islands, with all having recovered.
There were no updates on vaccination numbers, as vaccination clinics were closed on Monday.
As of Monday, 80% of the estimated population of 71,106 were fully vaccinated, having received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccination, 82% had received one dose, and 19% had been given a booster shot.
