The Miss World Cayman Islands Organization announced on 29 Nov. 2021 that it was inviting candidates to compete for the crown at its 2022 pageant.
Those hoping to participate must be Caymanian; 18-to-26 years old; must not have been married, nor borne children; and be confident, intelligent and involved in the community.
“The Miss World Cayman Islands pageant started in 2017, when I acquired the franchise… ,” said director and committee chairperson Pamela Ebanks-Small. “We’ve had three pageants, going on our fourth [in 2022]. Our pageant [this] year is going to be on April 23rd and we’re excited about that.”
The fourth staging of Miss World Cayman Islands will see sectional prizes awarded in several categories: ‘Top Model’, ‘Beauty with a Purpose’, ‘Evening Gown’, ‘Miss Congeniality’, ‘Best in Interview’, and ‘Best in Sports’.
“The Miss World Cayman Islands pageant really focuses on what the international pageant does,” Ebanks-Small said. “The pageant journey will begin from January to April. An official sashing at Government House, a Motorcade and Sports Segment are also expected early [this] year.”
