The Cayman Islands Government announced the further relaxing of COVID-19 restrictions under Phase 5 of the islands reopening plan, effective Friday 18 Feb.

  • Securely verified travellers are no longer required to do on-island testing on Days 2,5 and 7.
  • Pre-arrival testing (the day before departure) is still required for all travellers aged 5 and over.
  • Vaccinated travellers are no longer required to test prior to travel to Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Unvaccinated travellers need to have a negative LFT/PCR test prior to travel between Grand Cayman and the Sister Islands.
  • Lowering of the quarantine period for unvaccinated travellers from 10 days to seven.
  • Social distancing requirements remain in place.
  • Gathering limits increased to 500 persons indoors and 1,000 persons outdoors.
  • Increased gathering capacity for boats to 500 persons per boat, subject to each vessel’s own rated carrying capacity.
  • Testing restrictions on gyms have been lifted.

The following travel requirements remain in place for anyone wishing to visit:

  1. Apply to the Travel Cayman portal for an official Certificate to Travel by requesting a Travel Declaration.
  2. Be fully vaccinated by a WHO approved vaccine.
  3. All travellers 5 years and older require a certified rapid test (can be self-administered, if video observed by a provider such as AZOVA) or a PCR test the day before departure with a negative result.
  4. Ensure medical and travel insurance policy includes COVID-19 coverage.
