The newest product of the Cayman Arts Festival, the CayForte String Quartet, will be performing in the gardens of the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands on Thursday, 24 Feb. at 7pm.
Featuring Sarah Newman (violin), Harriet Hennelly (violin), Yoan Tamayo (viola) and Antonio Sanchez (cello) in a beautiful collaboration, CayForte will perform pieces of the Baroque era by Handel, Bach, Corelli, Vivaldi, Teleman and Purcell.
“One of the alchemies of music is that four is the most intimate number. Perhaps because it echoes the mysterious privacy of the family unit, a string quartet somehow radiates greater intensity than a solo or duet,” said Marius Gaina, executive director of CAF.
Now that government has increased the number of people allowed to gather under the latest COVID regulations, Gaina is hoping to see a large audience turn out for this much-anticipated recital.
Tickets are US$40 for adults and US$10 for students, and are available online at www.caymanartsfestival.com. For more information and to purchase or reserve tickets, email [email protected] or call 922-5550.
