Police are investigating a single vehicle collision on Mangrove Avenue in Prospect involving a black Honda.
Emergency services arriving at the scene of the accident shortly before 1:30pm on Saturday found the car had collided with a fence column. The unresponsive male driver, who is believed to have been the only person in the vehicle, had to be extracted from the car by the fire service.
He was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
Mangrove Drive, in the vicinity of the collision, was closed while officers carried out on scene investigations but has been cleared and reopened.
Investigators from the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit are seeking witnesses to come forward and provide information about how the collision took place.
