Meditation through music

In what appears like a dream sequence, singers and musicians, all clad in pristine white and in soft focus, perform calming, meditative songs on the beach at Smith Cove.

The performers, from Buddho Medicine Songs, a meditative music group, include singers, drummers, guitarists and others, who come together to sing, chant and share some of the most relaxing music anyone is likely to hear.

Two videos of Buddho Medicine Songs, produced by Ben Hud, have been released by the Business and Professional Women’s Club to help spread the message of how meditation can help people deal with the stresses of life.

“There are many research studies that now recognise the benefits of meditation as an aid to promote good mental health and mental wellbeing,” the BPW said in a statement about the release of the video.

The BPW showcased the meditative songs at their booth at the Alex Panton Foundation’s Youth Mental Health Symposium on 12 Feb., to provide a space of mindfulness, tranquillity and calm.

The video, featuring white-clad singers and musicians performing the dream-like, calming music, was filmed at Smith Barcadere.

Two videos are available for viewing – one lasting six-and-a-half minutes and a longer one lasting just over 20 minutes.
