A father and his infant daughter have died in a single-vehicle accident along West Church Street in West Bay.
In a response to questions from the Cayman Compass, a RCIPS spokesperson said the accident occurred shortly after 7pm on Sunday, 3 April.
The spokesperson said, “… two persons have been pronounced deceased. A… man of West Bay and his infant daughter who was travelling in the vehicle with him.”
Police say West Church Street, which runs from Centennial Towers at the four-way stop to the West Bay Police Station, will remain closed through the night while investigations continue.
Their deaths now take the total number of road fatalities this year to seven. Last week, Brendon Lee Gayle, 25, of Jamaica, died on 29 March from injuries he sustained in an accident on 24 March.
