A 25-year-old man who was involved in a serious collision on Mangrove Avenue in Prospect on 24 March, died from his injuries on 29 March.
Police confirmed his identity as Brendon Lee Gayle, a Jamaican national residing in the Cayman Islands.
A police statement said the collision occurred shortly after 3am, when the vehicle, travelling north on Mangrove Avenue, veered off the roadway into a fence and hit a utility pole.
The single male occupant sustained serious injuries, police said, and was transported to Cayman Islands Hospital where he underwent treatment.
Police had temporarily closed the roadway for investigation, while Caribbean Utilities Company was at the scene carrying out repairs to restore electricity to the area.
