Man charged in January George Town stabbing

A 30-year-old man has been formally charged with wounding with intent, following an earlier arrest in relation to a serious stabbing on 2 Jan. at the Everglo Bar on Seymour Drive in George Town.

The suspect was granted bail following his initial arrest on suspicion of attempted murder, police said at the time, in response to Cayman Compass queries.

Just before midnight on 2 Jan., police were dispatched to a report of a stabbing that took place at Everglo Bar, where the victim was said to have received several stab wounds during an altercation involving another man.

The victim in the incident sustained serious and life-threatening injuries, according to the initial report released by police.

The suspect has been bailed to appear in court on Tuesday, 5 April.
