ENTERTAINING IN THE 21ST CENTURY brings with it an added layer of voyeurism, when pictures from parties are shared with friends, family or followers.
Making your event fun and aesthetically pleasing for those attending in person, or by the wonders of the internet, is easy if you have a creative eye. If not, companies on-island will do the work for you.
As well as creating themes, or personalising event hashtags, creating photo opportunities is where it’s at, and these companies do just that while also delivering a fun experience to guests in attendance.
TABLE ALCHEMY
While hiring a private chef goes a long way in elevating a party, making a table photo-worthy takes it up a few levels.
This is where Table Alchemy comes in, offering curated ‘tablescape’ collections.
“Table Alchemy was created on the foundation that food is a common, universal experience that unites people, yet it doesn’t have to be a mundane experience,” says David Kirkaldy, owner of Massive Equipment, who purchased Table Alchemy in October 2021. “With this in mind, the company began curating table settings that turn meals into exquisite celebrations.”
Hosts can choose online from a range of collections, opting for one which best suits their event theme. Each set comes with a matching assortment of multi-course dinner plates, flatware, glasses, napkins and candleholders, etc.
All orders come with suggested look-book layouts to assist the host. Plus, now that Table Alchemy is part of the Massive Equipment family, orders can include additional party rental items such as food service, décor or audio-video.
PARTYBOOTH
One method of delivering on-point photo opportunities (and flattering lighting while you’re at it) is to provide a professional photo booth
with props.
Partybooth is a luxury photo experience company on-island, offering temporary, fun, booth-style photo ‘studios’ that can be set up in any location.
“In a nutshell. we combine the glamour of a photo shoot with the fun of a photo booth,” says owner Verity Scott.
Their range of options includes open-air or enclosed booths, more than 60 backdrop options, flattering strobe lighting, ultra-fast dye-sublimation printers, and a selection of curated props.
“We also employ the latest technology providing you with the ability to offer your guests all the photo trends sweeping social media such as Boomerangs, GIFs, Green Screen, instant sharing and online galleries,” says Verity.
The Partybooth experience is completely customisable, with the ability to match start screens, print templates and photo booths to invitations, colour palettes, brand logos and more, and clients can also wrap the booths with custom graphics, perfect for corporate and
brand activations.
There are two attendants at each event to ensure everything runs smoothly. “A booth butler and a prop master if you will,” says Verity.
POP & PETALS
Backdrops such as flower walls and balloons are always a great option for private or corporate entertaining, and Pop & Petals can cater for either.
The company came to fruition when founder Racquel Rankin was exploring statement backdrops for a friend’s wedding events. She saw an opportunity to offer these to Cayman residents, and the company was born, now offering gorgeous displays for private and company events.
The company offers a variety of backdrops and displays for events of all sizes, from organic balloon garlands, tabletop moongates, and easel balloon displays, to larger displays which include 8×8-foot hedge, flower or shimmer walls, a 7-foot moongate, and the latest trend, wooden panels. The company’s signature touch is to include some form of foliage in nearly every display.
“The flower walls and the easel display have been the most popular to date,” says Raquel, who works with clients’ ideas and brings them to life.
“To ensure this, we offer mockups giving them an idea of how their design will be presented on the day of their events. We work with any budget to provide that extra element needed to jazz up any event.”
PROSECCO VAN CAYMAN
When it comes to drinks, a bar at an in-home event takes things up a notch. To make it even more special, hosts can hire specialty drinks service, such as Prosecco Van Cayman. Not only does this keep drinks on tap, literally, but also adds a beautiful aesthetic aspect to a party.
Prosecco Van Cayman, a sister company to Bubble Bros in the UK, delivers a compact and easily manoeuvrable van equipped with two taps and chilling systems which can serve Prosecco, wine, and specially crafted Prosecco cocktails.
“With a focus on reduction in bottle waste, just one of our 20-litre kegs is equivalent to approximately 30 traditional glass bottles, meaning we get roughly 160 servings for guests to enjoy,” explains owner Alexandria Whittaker.
The van arrives ready to plug in and pour with a dedicated bubble master, and bespoke packages are available.
“We wanted to bring this concept to Cayman because it was a fresh take on bar/drink service,” says Alexandria. “The van has a very fun and unique charm that can be a focal point or added feature to events in Cayman.”
The company works with clients to create a memorable experience with unique charm, because everything is better with bubbles, says Alexandria.
