Now that we are officially into the summer, you may be trying to find ways to occupy your children on their holidays.
The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands is inviting all ages to come along to its free Family Fun Day on Saturday, 16 July from 10am-1pm.
There will be activities set up in the breezeway (which seems to keep cool, no matter what time of year it is), and everyone can browse the exhibitions on display. The gallery will be providing worksheets for an interactive experience, along with a studio activity inspired by traditional Caymanian ‘yoyo quilting’.
A variety of artists are presently exhibiting at the gallery, including Nasaria Suckoo Chollette (‘All The Coals We Left in The Fire’) and John Reno Jackson (‘A Heron Amongst the Storm’). There is also the National Gallery Permanent Collect Exhibition ‘Saltwater in Their Veins’ to view.
The National Gallery is located on the Esterley Tibbetts Highway. For more information, visit the website at www.nationalgallery.org.ky.
