Police are investigating a machete attack in George Town in which a man suffered wounds to his arm.
According to an RCIPS statement issued today, police on Friday received a report that a serious assault had occurred around 9am the day before, 11 Aug., during which a man at a business premises on Shedden Road, near Eastern Avenue, was approached by another man known to him who struck him with a machete.
He was taken by private vehicle to the Cayman Islands Hospital, where he was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and subsequently discharged, police said.
“The suspect responsible fled the scene whilst officers were making follow-up enquiries and is still being sought,” the RCIPS said.
A police spokesperson said the suspect had fled from a nearby residence when officers arrived.
