Cayman powerlifter Tony Mc Inerney has earned silver at the recent NAPF and IPF 19th annual North American Regional Powerlifting Championships in Panama.
Mc Inerney placed second in the open classic division, after lifting north of 300 lbs. In a press release from the Cayman Islands Powerlifting Organization, he said was pleased with his performance, considering the issues he faced due to the pandemic.
“It has been difficult to prepare and train for competitions over the past couple of years,” he said.
“I was excited to get back on the platform and test my strength. I gave it my best shot but had some difficulty in the deadlift challenge which is usually my easiest event. In the end, I was extremely proud and happy to bring home a medal for Cayman.”
Jordan McErlean also represented Cayman at the event.
