Ferguson wins annual Foster’s swim

Thomas Ferguson won the 38th annual Foster’s 800m Sea Swim held Saturday, 15 Oct., off Governors Beach.

Ferguson stopped the clock at 9:29.70, followed by Will Sellars at 9:33.05 and Harper Barrowman in a time of 9:37.30.

NORCECA Under-23 Tournament coming up

The NORCECA Under-23 Tournament is set for 28-30 Oct. The volleyball event, which will be played on Seven Mile Public Beach, will feature teams from the Caribbean, Central America, the US and Canada, along with a Cayman squad.

Sporting event for seniors on the cards

The Ministry of Sports will host its Older Persons Sport Evening on Saturday, 22 Oct, at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex, starting at 5:30pm. People over age 65 will take part in events like the 100m dash and a bean bag toss.

Sol Blazers edge Hoopsters for the win

Sol Blazers defeated Hoopsters 69-51 during round 3 of the Cayman Islands Basketball Association under-19 boys league at the John Gray High School gymnasium on Sunday, 16 Oct.

Sol Blazers’ Xzavier Miller was named player of the game after tallying 34 points, eight rebounds, two steals and one block.
