The deadline for people to register local mariners and others involved in Cayman’s seafaring heritage has been extended.
Celebrate Cayman has extended its open call for names to be added to the National Seafarers’ Registry until Friday, 4 Nov.
The registry was first developed in 2020, to collect and document information about the lives of the men and women who served as seafarers and supported Cayman’s maritime heritage.
Celebrate Cayman is aiming to include every seafarer, living or dead, in the registry, so that a complete history can be available for future generations.
Former seafarers or their loved ones can add their names to the historic registry.
