A total of 118 swimmers took advantage of the beautiful conditions on Cayman’s world famous Seven Mile Beach for the KPMG Pirates Fest 5K, 3K and 1K swims.
Thomas Ferguson won the 5K in a time of 1:10:23.86. Swimming to victory in the 3K was Veronika Fankina, who finished at 45:52.30, and claiming first in the 1K was Lev Fahy, clocking in at 15:03.89.
Also included in the weekend’s aquatic festivities was the first Pirates Fest Harbour half-mile swim.
The Cayman Islands Aquatic Sports Association stated on its Facebook page that all the funds raised during the event, in which 107 swimmers took part, will go towards the association’s newest member, John Gray High School Swim Club.
