A record 64 swimmers took part in this year's Pirates Week 5K sea swim from Governor's Beach.
Cayman’s athletes completed one last holdover from 2018 on Saturday: the 30th annual CUC Sea Swim.
Despite some stormy and uncertain weather throughout Saturday, the 31st annual FLOW 800m Sea Swim took place at Governors Beach.
The first Aquathlon Sea Swim and Run event took place at Governors Beach on Saturday, attracting 78 participants, including 24 individuals and 27 two-person teams who competed in an 800-meter sea swim, followed by a 3,000-meter run.
The 37th Annual Pirates Week 5K Sea Swim takes place Saturday, beginning at 7 a.m., and will feature international swimmer and three-time Olympian Stephanie Horner.

One event scheduled for this weekend in Cayman will go on as scheduled, but a number of others have been canceled or postponed because of inclement weather related to Hurricane Irma.
The Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association and Foster’s Food Fair present the annual Foster’s Food Fair IGA 800m Sea Swim, and immediately afterward, a 400m swim for those 12 and under, on Saturday, Sept. 9.

The annual CUC 800 meter open water swim that had been set for Oct. 8 has been for Saturday, Oct. 15, due to inclement weather on the original date. Staged by the Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association and sponsored by CUC, the event also includes a 400m swim for youngsters ages 12 and under.

The annual CUC 800 meters open water swim will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8. Staged by the Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association and sponsored by CUC, the event also includes a 400m swim for youngsters ages 12 and under.
The 32nd annual Foster’s Food Fair 800m Sea Swim is set for Saturday, Sept. 10, at 4 p.m. at Governors Beach. Anyone ready to swim the distance may sign up for the first open water swim of the season.
The Stroke and Stride three-series race ends with the final event on Aug. 17, with a 5:45 p.m. start at Sunset House.
In perfect weather and sea conditions, 109 swimmers took part in the Flow 800m Sea Swim, one of the first competitive sea swims of the season.
The annual Flow 800-meter sea swim will be held on Saturday on Seven Mile Beach.
Young swimmers on the Brac were out in force for a day of competition at the Sister Islands Swim Club’s first Burner Meet of 2016.
